Square of 9

W.D. Gann Square of 9Our mission is to provide information to clarify confusing analytical issues in W.D Gann trading techniques for traders.

Many traders and students of Gann are confuse by the many outcomes from applying the Gann Line , Time Squares starting point, which Square to use, division of range, square of nine and Gann Wheel, etc..

I will try to simplify the technique and hopefully the sky will be clearer for you.

W.D. Gann square of 9W.D. Gann named his invention "Master Mechanical Time and Trend Calculator", so why do we called it "square of 9". The Gann wheel starts with 1 in the center and spiraling out in clockwise direction. The center square made up to number 9, so are commonly known as "square of 9".

I know people use trading days of 261 (5/7 x 365.25) as the circle size, if you are one of these followers, let me know how does it perform? Anyway I just keep it simple and only use 365.25 as the circle size. Since I don't use the time aspect of the gann wheel any more, so I don't look at the Mar 21 - 0° and 360° aspect.

You can use square of 9 time and price division from lows and highs, however I only use square of 9 price divisions and mainly the 90° level. After many trials, most of the others are just producing too many probabilities and tends to be unreliable. However it is all up to you to further study and explore further. The division line is not linear due to the market price varies more in higher price level. Gann use the gann wheel to forecast the expansion between the corner prices as market price move out from the center.

This is an Australian commonwealth bank chart, at 90 degree level; 30.27, it give some good resistance.
